Skip the powdered mix. A fresh raspberry simple syrup gives this lemonade its gorgeous color and a subtle berry sweetness that balances perfectly with the tart citrus. Once you try this, there’s no going back.
What You’ll Need
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4–6 large lemons)
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water (for the syrup)
- ½ cup fresh raspberries
- 4 cups cold water (to dilute)
- Ice, lemon slices, and fresh mint for serving
How to Make It
- Make the berry syrup. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, 1 cup of water, and raspberries. Bring to a gentle simmer and stir until the sugar dissolves. Use the back of a spoon to mash the raspberries and help release their juices.
- Strain and chill. Pull the pan off the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a jar, pressing down on the solids to squeeze out every last drop. Pop it in the fridge until cold.
- Mix and serve. In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, the chilled raspberry syrup, and the 4 cups of cold water. Stir well, pour over plenty of ice, and garnish with a lemon slice and a sprig of mint.

No-Bake Berry Cheesecake Jars

All the richness of a classic cheesecake — none of the oven time. These individual jars come together fast, look really impressive, and can be made the night before so you’re not scrambling when guests arrive.
What You’ll Need
- For the crust: 1 cup graham cracker crumbs + 2 tbsp melted butter
- For the filling: 8 oz cream cheese (softened), ½ cup powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract, ½ cup heavy whipping cream
- For the topping: 1 cup of your favorite summer berries — strawberries, blueberries, or blackberries all work beautifully
How to Make It
- Build the crust. Combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in a bowl and stir until it resembles wet sand. Divide evenly among 4 small jars or clear glasses and press down gently to form a solid base layer.
- Whip the filling. In one bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then set it aside. In a second bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until completely smooth. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture — don’t overmix.
- Assemble and chill. Spoon or pipe the cheesecake filling into each jar over the crust. Top with a generous handful of fresh berries. Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
These keep well in the fridge for up to two days, so they’re perfect for prepping the night before a gathering. Just hold off on adding the fresh berries until right before you serve.

Tropical Protein Smoothie

When it’s too hot for a real meal but you still need something that keeps you going, this smoothie does the job. The trick is using frozen fruit instead of ice — you get a thick, creamy texture without watering down the flavor.
What You’ll Need
- 1 cup frozen mango chunks
- ½ cup frozen pineapple chunks
- 1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder
- 1 tbsp chia seeds or flax seeds
- 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk (or almond milk)
- A handful of fresh spinach (optional — you won’t taste it, we promise)
How to Make It
- Layer correctly. Add your liquid to the blender first, followed by the protein powder and seeds, and then pile the frozen fruit on top. This order makes a real difference — it helps the blades move freely from the start and keeps things from getting jammed.
- Blend and adjust. Blend on high until smooth. If it’s too thick, splash in a little more coconut milk and blend again. If you want that thick, almost soft-serve consistency you can eat with a spoon, use as little liquid as possible and press the fruit down toward the blades with a tamper.
- Serve immediately in a cold glass or bowl, topped with extra fruit if you’d like.
There is nothing quite like spending a warm summer evening enjoying a cold drink or a sweet treat in the comfort of your own home. Additionally, if you have kiddos at home, these are incredibly kid-friendly recipes to try!
